What's Happened?
- Jefferson County approved the Brinnon Subarea Plan in 2004. The plan included the possibility of a Master Planned Resort (MRP) at Black Point.
- Statesman Group applied to the county to build an MPR IN 2006.
- From 2006 to 2008 there have been public hearings and public comment
on the Statesman proposal and on changing the Comprehensive Plan
to allow it.
- There were 2 environmental impact statements (EIS): a draft EIS or the DEIS and a final EIS or the FEIS.
- In January 2008 the county commissioners approved an ordinance changing the Comprehensive Plan to allow the Statesman proposal. There were 29 conditions in this ordinance on the development of the MPR. The conditions included mitigation to the Brinnon School District, the Brinnon Fire Department, Jefferson Transit, and a number of other agencies providing services to Brinnon.
