The Plan
- Pleasant Harbor Marina is currently a modest marina focused on boats and water activities.
- Taking advantage of Jefferson County’s shorelines ordinance, the Statesman intends to heavily develop the existing shoreline and near shore area.
- Although the developer states that the pictures above are merely an artist's rendition, it is believed that the drawings closely resemble what is being planned.
- The plan seems to include dense urban housing and many square feet of retail space placed on the shore.
- Almost all trees in the "natural buffer" at the water's edge would be removed.
- There will also be 890 condos and other housing units, 79,000 feet of retail space, a conference center, multiple restaurants, and an 18-hole golf course
- The developers says that all those units and all that commercial space will have less impact than the 20 to 50 homes that would be built there the way land is currently being developed in Brinnon. The Brinnon Group doesn't accept this.
